happy lunar new year! its the time of the year again! with lots of cny goodies and angbaos and play-for-fun-earn-some-pocket-money gambling and never ending food! well my braces no longer hurts but it irritates me by getting the food stuck at the brackets every now and then =*( the day 1 was as usual spent at ah ma's house. this yr i won $16 from the table! lol but i spent them later giving some to my ah ma and buying kfc for my family which we brought into the cinema =x anyway my cousin is a cam pro with lots of slr, and i think they take really really nice photos! when i'm really rich, i will buy a wii 1st den invest on one dslr and take the lessons to really learn it! wahs so cool =DD i think this pic is really nice..  the couple!  braces sisters!  the loving family! haha!  with ah ma =))  the happy Eng family =)))  at night my family went to watch all's well end's well tgt. the plot was ok only. its the actions of the comedians that make it funny. and Louis koo is ultimate shuai4! =)  =D Thursday, January 22, 2009 @ 1/22/2009 04:43:00 PM

braces day 2 its the 2nd day with braces. ONLY. i need to have them on for 2 years. zomg. Dr poon said it will be very painful today. cos the teeth will start shifting 24 hrs later. its more suan1 den pain lo. cos can feel sth tightening your teeth. and i spent more than half an hour cleaning my teeth yst. was very very careful, scared too hard the brackets will drop out and wat not. trying to get used to them now. realised i look infront of the mirror every half an hour trying to find the best way to smile and not to smile and talk. looks really weird. and i am very hungry now. survived on liquid food for 2 days. whipped potato, campbell soup, porridge are the kind of thing that keeps me going. i cant even have an egg roll=(( the moment my teeth sense that they are touching on sth, they hurt like mad. omg i better really be able to eat the day after tml like sihui! pls be glad that u all can eat normally. ok its very suan1 now =((( Tuesday, January 20, 2009 @ 1/20/2009 02:00:00 PM
updates hello its 1 wk to cny. and i just got my braces on. 1 at a time, shall talk abt the eventful new year 2009. 1. meeting up with the girls.  thats got to be 1 of the most enjoyable thing. we arranged for a gathering last friday evening. well every1 works in the town area except me. met at raffles place before we proceed to settlers cafe. which is in clarke quay. kinda like a explorer's hunt becos we have no idea how to go there. as usual xiuwen was the walking directory to show the way with her map. haha. played some games, like the acting game, cloud9, taboo, snorta. its just amazing to see mk wearing a performer's costume (which is seriously overaged on her) and doing kiddish actions and sounds. haha. a pity it was dress down day so couldn see yili and claire in their office wear. den we went along the s'pore river for some catching up. only 1 month since we last saw each other, but there are so so many things to say. of cos, we used to talk every schoolday, now everything is squeezed to 1 night. haha! 2. end of work  ok this sounds funny cos not long ago i just said i started working. anw its just a 2weeks contract. and i am still unemployed now. its ok there are plenty of jobs on the papers. i'm sure i can find 1 which i like more =Dback to the topic, fncc actually give out staff drinks. 2 cartons each per month. but cos this month is cny, they give 5. and even a 2wks temp like me is included! haha so i spent 3 days lugging them home. luckily there were nice and friendly ppl there who would offer to carry for me =) so now mum dun need to buy new yr drinks anymore =D went around saying bye bye to the acquaintances in the company. like the admin coordinater alison, hr evelyn, guy on intern and the bus driver who sends me home. lol thats quite few.. 3. more surveys  well nuh is trying to clear the ntuc vouchers for the surveys. so they got those ppl who did more last month to continue. so i did more surveys during weekends. since my work is only 2wks this month, i need more $ to pay for my braces. haha! its pretty interesting to explore into the ulu parts in the north which i never thot i could see. the place where i had the deepest impression is probably the 一房半厅一水缸 kind of houses. haha i have totally no idea they exists in woodlands! the corridor were a bit dark ( the pic is not accurate) but the ppl are better than those living in bigger houses i tell u. seriously, i dun mind being rejected but shooing ppl off is really not a very polite thing. i am not a cat or dog in ur void deck ok! i am just doing survey and not like u do it for free. u get vouchers la. so wats with those nasty words and hand actions to shoo ppl away! 4. braces and now is the most recent 1. went to dentalworks to get my braces fixed early in the morning. Dr poon showed me the mould of my teeth. wah uber messy. looking forward to how it will look like 2 years later. lol. the time taken was abt 1hr, and i almost fell asleep. after he took away the thing to open my mouth while he fix the brackets on, i totally couldn close my mouth. oh man. actually the prob of my teeth is that it is messy and the front ones are protruding at an angle out. so now its worst la with the brackets on. but was so amazed when dr poon said that he can make teeth go left, right, in, out, up down and even rotate! wow! and i have problem talking cos my lips are blocked by the brackets. oh man i have no idea how to go for the next interview. but am glad that i dun have to work this week. can slowly get used to the braces =) and cos my upper teeth will keep knocking onto the metal pieces of the lower teeth, he put sth like a platform at the back so that its not that bad. but now i cant eat anything except liquid food. oh good that helps in dieting. lol. and i can imagine the time i need to clean my teeth everyday for the rest of the 2 years. awwww.... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ thats abt it. so looking forward to playing at sihui's house this sat! =D Monday, January 19, 2009 @ 1/19/2009 09:03:00 PM

job hunting day supposed to put on braces today. but dr poon not free. so tml... well early in the morning RE called me to go for a job interview in FACTORY AREA again. do i look i like to work in those place?? its admin assistant for legal department of a manufacturing company (for sofas). den HR of FNCC called to say they are in the midst of confirming my extension of contract. wah i was thinking whether i shud go for the interview but in the end i still did. the place was ultimate ulu. worst den fncc. i lost my way cos i tink the directions given by RE was not right. lucky a kind uncle stopped and DROVE me there. ok i hesitated whether i shud board but i was running late for the interview. so i did. lucky i was not kidnapped. lol. the place look more grand then fncc though. all the chairs are sofas (for obvious reason). the interview was with the legal consultant. a lady who end up talking with me abt stuff like A level and her nephew who is currently taking the IB. but the department has only 3 ppl (include me if i join them). omg and no canteen, no lunch nearby since its the factory area. need to bring ur own food. after walking out from there i seriously think i dun want to work there. also not that they confirm want me since there are other candidates. shortly after my boss of fncc called to tell me she would fight for my job not via RE anymore so that the pay would be higher. so i thot that would be good. but the moment i put down the phone, RE called again. say I GOT THE JOB. omg. like how. i said i dun want but the person repeated at least 10 times "REALLY?" make me waver. cos the sofa company changed the contract so that i can end by june cos during the interview i said i dun want to work in july. but i still said "dun want la". ok thats abt it i just wanted to tok abt the eventful thing. well i really feel like working in city areas instead (though tranpsort cost incurred) den in factory for the rest of the holidays. so i made the right choice hor! i just need assurance that i did the right thing. lol. more about my job the last week has been pretty busy. and tiring. weekdays was at work. mainly office stuff except that i had to go down some stores to get info on the drinks that i am working on. and looking at the excel files day in and out. well i have a database of stuff to follow up so it can be quite tiring for the eyes. and there is never-ending stuff to do! i didnt get to know the sales people outside. cos i'm always in the room and they are not at their work station. there is this big banner outside on the ceiling that says "this is not my office. my office is the marketplace" haha cos sales people are supposed to do a little paper work and den leave to go out for sales. if you stay for too long there will be posters saying "GET OUT!" with your photo on it pasted all around the office! wow how interesting. but through the week i get to know my manager more. and i'm really glad for that. we go out everyday for lunch. in her car of cos since the office is in such a ulu place. tried lots of nice food! and i see sugarcane juice everywhere! wah my fav. well my manager a really nice lady. besides teaching me abt my work, she's never stingy to share her experiences! 1 week only and i think i learnt a lot a lot! in the office cos its so quiet she will just say sth for fun. haha! we have a lot of close door talks cos wat she say are not meant to be heard by ppl outside. lol! she told me so many things about sales in this company and all the other big companies that make me really feel like joining sales&marketing in future! today went for roll out. well for this job of mine, which is only 2 weeks, i am supposed to just do the office stuff. but my boss (my manager) asked me to join them so that i can get a feel of how it is like and decide whether i wan2 continue working with her.. its mainly merchandising but i sorta do the easier ticketing stuff while the ad-hoc guys did the tough labour.. but my boss seems to be really getting me ready to be a captain! i thot say say only.. cos today she told me wat a captain does and how to brief the temp guys. cos last ime she said she can train me for that so that i can beef up my resume. like experience as a supervisor but i thot she was joking (like she always likes to).. so yup i will be signing a 3months contract with fncc. for the fact that i can learn so many things and get so many great opportunities. and of cos, a higher pay which would be quite hard to get elsewhere. heh. i have learnt the fact that the workplace is not the school. they will not teach you wfor the sake of letting you learn, but rather to work for them. so you have to go thru the hard way. and thats wat we call experience. so to learn the specialised software for this catman thing (my section in sales), i need to start from collecting the data. to be a captain, i need to start from working like and with those adhoc guys. yup so i hope 3months is enough to learn all i need to in this sector =D Sunday, January 04, 2009 @ 1/04/2009 10:52:00 AM
SJ and LX bdae =D and so it was shijun's (yst) and lerxian's (tml) bday celebration yst. haha.  dinner at ajisen. please dun order miso ramen when u go becos its ultimate salty. and even more ex. omg. and so it was some talking and the 08 j2 batch went to buy cake except me cos i haben finish my ultimate-mega-salty-miso-chashu-ramen. den alvin left also. left me as the only j2. but i heard alot of army stories which i never heard before. yes more of the yellow parts. lol. den was singing bday songs. we sang 4 times! 1english 1 chi for shijun den another 2 for lerxian. and he got a shock as well cos he wasnt expecting that we would celebrate his bdae.. haha. so after that went arcade. there are mega cheap neoprints! range from $3-7! imagine it was RM30 at genting. oh my i was damn excited at 1st but not after what joson said. blah. and i saw a new arcade machine! or was i too sua koo already. its like para para but use fingers kind. heh. so very interesting. and basketball machines reminded me of how my aunties got hooked on playing that in genting. lol! anw in the end we still took neoprint. 8 ppl and thats not all. some didnt take. but it was super squeezy already cos the screen is so small. couldnt move so i guess we look pretty much the same in all pic. only lerxian cos i realised he made a lot of different expressions though the position is the same! lol. but i really super lousy at the drawing part. no time no time! omg lol. so thats abt it. happy birthday to them =DD Friday, January 02, 2009 @ 1/02/2009 08:28:00 PM
1st day of new job  and that's where i work.went pretty early in the morning and met the HR who interviewed me. and she brought me to a room. not long after another guy came in. he's a temp staff too and guess wat: he's from njc as well. 2 yrs older than me cos he served ns. and a crazy pro who studied 2 maths and got A for all subjects. so the morning was spent talking to him cos no1 came to attend to us. but he works in another department which has high pay but weird hours. finally some1 came and showed us 2 loooong videos. which were code of conduct and history of the company. heh. and the person disappeared again. the funny thing is u cant open the door of that room from outside and the phone doesnt works. so after looooong waiting i was finally brought to my manager. hoho. well we are part of the sales department. but for the job that we are doing, its a niche area in the marketing sector and there's only the category manager and me. the 2 of us in 1 room and i sit right infront of her. haha. ok there is this thing in sales&marketing which i never knew existed. so i am seriously going to learn abt sth in that area which i have never thought i would touch on. my job is not office bound. YAY. its half half i would say. i heard my department is always quite empty cos the ppl need to go out very often. i need to go out to the supermarkets too and take some information on the drinks den come back office to key in the data. from the lists i saw today, i need to go out pretty often. and i will go by taxi, which can be fully claimed. hehe. i will have to be quite independent, cos the manager, lisa, will start me off and i will do the rest myself. cos she's a busy lady who need to go out as well to meet the customers and wat not. compared to wat most of my friends told me abt their job, i seriously prefer mine. cos its sth totally new, and i work with a goal in mine cos i am assigned a set of work to complete. anyway yes there is free flow of coke and other f&n drinks there. lol. but i dun really like sweet stuffs. talking abt my manager lisa, she's a really nice lady to get along with. she said the canteen food is not nice so she took me out in her car for lunch. on the way and through the meal she told me really alot. cos she has experience in at least 7 or 8 BIG companies. she spends a few year on each cos she wants to learn more things and now her resume is like... wonderful. and she told me from like which big company pay attention to wat when hiring to the welfare and environment there. really gained a lot talking to her (hope i rmb as much as i could. lol.) completed the stuff i set to do for the day and its just right to get on the company bus home. my transport fees is $0 cos there's a pick-up point very near my house! hoho.. and i can go on and on about my job cos its really very very new and interesting to me. heh. and did i mention there is an assignment when we will have to work from 1030PM to morning. YES ITS PM. and instead i was excited. agreed to do the moment lisa told me abt it. LOL cos i never tried such a thing. and she said she will talk to her boss for extending my employemt since she need an assistant to carry out the proposal we are doing now. and its more out station work. will be very different from what i am doing now. everything will be perfect if the pay is higher=x ok i wanted to stop but i carried on for so much. oh man. okok thats all for now.
