1st day of new job  and that's where i work.went pretty early in the morning and met the HR who interviewed me. and she brought me to a room. not long after another guy came in. he's a temp staff too and guess wat: he's from njc as well. 2 yrs older than me cos he served ns. and a crazy pro who studied 2 maths and got A for all subjects. so the morning was spent talking to him cos no1 came to attend to us. but he works in another department which has high pay but weird hours. finally some1 came and showed us 2 loooong videos. which were code of conduct and history of the company. heh. and the person disappeared again. the funny thing is u cant open the door of that room from outside and the phone doesnt works. so after looooong waiting i was finally brought to my manager. hoho. well we are part of the sales department. but for the job that we are doing, its a niche area in the marketing sector and there's only the category manager and me. the 2 of us in 1 room and i sit right infront of her. haha. ok there is this thing in sales&marketing which i never knew existed. so i am seriously going to learn abt sth in that area which i have never thought i would touch on. my job is not office bound. YAY. its half half i would say. i heard my department is always quite empty cos the ppl need to go out very often. i need to go out to the supermarkets too and take some information on the drinks den come back office to key in the data. from the lists i saw today, i need to go out pretty often. and i will go by taxi, which can be fully claimed. hehe. i will have to be quite independent, cos the manager, lisa, will start me off and i will do the rest myself. cos she's a busy lady who need to go out as well to meet the customers and wat not. compared to wat most of my friends told me abt their job, i seriously prefer mine. cos its sth totally new, and i work with a goal in mine cos i am assigned a set of work to complete. anyway yes there is free flow of coke and other f&n drinks there. lol. but i dun really like sweet stuffs. talking abt my manager lisa, she's a really nice lady to get along with. she said the canteen food is not nice so she took me out in her car for lunch. on the way and through the meal she told me really alot. cos she has experience in at least 7 or 8 BIG companies. she spends a few year on each cos she wants to learn more things and now her resume is like... wonderful. and she told me from like which big company pay attention to wat when hiring to the welfare and environment there. really gained a lot talking to her (hope i rmb as much as i could. lol.) completed the stuff i set to do for the day and its just right to get on the company bus home. my transport fees is $0 cos there's a pick-up point very near my house! hoho.. and i can go on and on about my job cos its really very very new and interesting to me. heh. and did i mention there is an assignment when we will have to work from 1030PM to morning. YES ITS PM. and instead i was excited. agreed to do the moment lisa told me abt it. LOL cos i never tried such a thing. and she said she will talk to her boss for extending my employemt since she need an assistant to carry out the proposal we are doing now. and its more out station work. will be very different from what i am doing now. everything will be perfect if the pay is higher=x ok i wanted to stop but i carried on for so much. oh man. okok thats all for now. |
